As you might have guessed this is a Google maps issue rather than an iFootpath App issue on your Android phone. This is the case even if your normal Google maps App is working ok.
A good place to start is to try and update the Google Play services App - see link below
You can also try and clear the app's cache
Go to Settings > Apps.
Scroll to All apps and then scroll down to “Google Services Framework” app.
Open the app details and tap on the “Force stop” button.
Then, tap on the “Clear cache” button.
This can be quite a complex issue to solve and there are numerous help pages if you google the problem.
